SOPHIE HUDSON PHYSIO

Ever since I can remember I have been passionate about sports and making the most out of moving. I have competed and done lots of different types of sports: rowing competitively, cycling the North Coast 500, playing pitch sports and occasionally I dabble in CrossFit, running for fun and most recently trekking in the Himalayas.

Having said this, I have also had some major injury setbacks which is good for you because it means I can relate to the feeling of being injured, frustrated with recovery and FOMO from sports.

My approach is simple: understanding, knowledge and practicality. Having an understanding of what is going on, your lifestyle and expectations. Always learning and using the evidence base to help guide my clinical practice. Then combining the two to make your tailored rehabilitation practical and efficient so you can get back to doing what you do best, only stronger and wiser.

Since 2021 I have been working with Thames Rowing Club to support the athletes achieve phenomenal successes nationally and internationally. Other athletes and clients I have worked with have gone on to achieve personal bests, return to pain movement and have a better quality of life.

Another interest is in public and global health (population health). I have been fortunate to have lived in Johannesburg, South Africa and regularly visit Nepal with a charity called In your Hands. Both these experiences showed me how access to health care, health care literacy and quality of life all influence each other. Part of this website will be used to bring together aspects of physiotherapy and population health with my new learnings and experience.

BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy - King's College London.
